Food Drive for Central Texas Flood Victims

AQUILA Management Services, as a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Austin, is holding a food drive through July 10th, to raise collect supplies and funds for the victims of flooding in Hays County. The area was hit hard a couple of weeks ago with massive rainfall which caused a devastating amount of flooding.  Hundreds of people lost their homes, cars, and loved ones.  The collection box is located in the lobby on the 1st floor.

What food should I collect?
Healthy, non-perishable food
Items with intact, un-opened consumer or commercial packaging
Items with non-breakable packaging (no glass please)
Food within the expiration date on the packaging

What items do clients request most?

peanut butter
canned chicken breast or tuna
canned low sodium vegetables
canned fruit in its own juice (no sugar added)
dry pinto beans
brown rice
non-fat dry milk powder
100% whole grain cereal

If you cannot bring in food, consider making a monetary donation, because every penny helps.  Wimberley has set up a donation site so they have funds easily accessible by the local agencies.  Using this link the local agencies are able to access the funds quicker to help with a more timely recovery.  The donation link can be found at barnabasconnects.org.
