2 Austin tech incubators to move into downtown office

- Two local technology incubators, having adequately incubated their own business model in Austin, are moving into more permanent spaces downtown

- TechStars LLC and DreamIt Ventures have moved out of the Capital Factory to more conventional office spaces

- TechStars is scheduled to relocate to a Sixth Street office that previously housed software maker Spredfast Inc. in February. Earlier this month, DreamIt relocated to 504 Lavaca St

- TechStars, a business incubator established in 2006 by four entrepreneurs, received 850 applications for its first Austin incubation program. It provides each startup with $18,000 in seed funding for a 6 percent ownership stake



- Philadelphia-based DreamIt, which has launched 127 companies since it was established in 2008, is working with nine startups in its latest class
