Allstate Insurance plans Austin expansion

Allstate Insurance Co. is expanding in Austin and planning to open 12 new agencies here. Meanwhile, it's on the lookout for new agency owners and sales professionals

“Austin is making headlines for its impressive economic and population expansion. This means there are more families that we want to help and protect by hanging more blue signs,” Lisa Banks, Allstate’s Texas Strategic Deployment Leader said in a media release announcing the move

Illinois-based Allstate (NYSE: ALL) says it is looking for "qualified mid-career, mid-level managers" to own and operate the new agencies. Local managers must make a capital investment of $50,000 to get an agency off the ground, according to the release. Interested candidates can get more information on the company's website

"This money does not go to Allstate; it is to help ensure the agency can successfully fund the day to day costs associated with opening and running a small business," reads the release

As the new agencies open, the company will also be looking to hire as many as 80 sales professionals to help run the business.
