The list of downtown Austin hotel projects in the pipeline continues to grow. Documents filed at the city show that the owner of properties at 1109 and 1113 E. Sixth St. plans a 42-room hotel and a small cafe

Demolition has begun on existing buildings, which had been sold earlier this summer

Property records examined by ABJ show the owner is 1109 East Sixth St LLC, an entity formed by David Kline, a local investor and developer

Big Red Dog Engineering & Consulting is handling the engineering. A company official deferred to a public relations firm about details of the project

The boutique hotel joins several in the current mix around Austin's Central Business District

Hotel Eleven at 1123 E. 11th St. currently is under construction and scheduled to be finished in 2014. It will have just 14 rooms

Other boutique hotels are on the drawing boards at 805 Neches St. and at 62 East Ave

Projects under construction downtown include the massive JW Marriott Hotel at Second Street and Congress Ave., which is in the midst a dispute between the city and the developer. Other hospitality developments include Hotel Zaza, Hotel Van Zandt and the Westin. The Fairmont Austin is suppose to break ground this fall, as well
