Atlas Wearables raises seed financing

Atlas Wearables Inc. reported raising $1.2 million in a planned $1.5 million round of seed financing


The Austin-based company that develops fitness intelligence through data analytics plans to used the capital to bring its first wearable product to market this winter. The product includes more than 50 exercises in its database, according to a company statement


Atlas, founded in 2013, has now raised $1.2 million in investment capital. It employs 10 workers


A graduate of the TechStars business accelerator program, Atlas Wearables received more than $629,000 from a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo in March. It subsequently collected another $625,000 through Crowdfunder, Fundable and angel investors


The Atlas Wearables device is designed to improve indoor and outdoor training. It’s powered by the company's exercise-motion database and adaptive algorithms to identify movements, learn new exercises, and predict and suggest proper weight, the news release indicates
