Austin is the seventh-best city in the country for young entrepreneurs, according to a report from personal finance website Nerdwallet.com

Austin was noted for its thriving tech business culture, local resources for startups, as well as its young, highly educated workforce and low unemployment rate. And while it may be a shock to some longtime Austinites dealing with surging house prices, the report also highlighted the comparatively low cost of living found in the region

Leading the list was Arlington, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C., which boasts the nation's largest proportion of residents over the age of 25 with a bachelors degree or higher, at 75 percent

The Nerdwallet report analyzed each city by four factors: Access to funds; Networking and mentorship opportunities; Local economic health, measured by per capita income and the unemployment rate; and the cost of living
