Marketing analytics firm Adometry, which helps advertisers gauge how their online ads are performing, has been acquired by search giant Google

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Google said the acquisition will not be required to pass through the government regulatory process

Adometry was based in Redmond, Wash., until it was acquired by Austin-based Click Forensics in 2011. Click Forensics took Adometry’s name and moved its headquarters to Austin

Click Forensics, which was founded in 2005, initially developed software that detected online advertising fraud

Adometry was backed by $29 million in venture capital from investors including Shasta Ventures, Sierra Ventures, Stanford University and Austin Ventures. The company has about 135 employees

In a post on its Google+ page, Google said that the purchase will help to expand its offerings on Google Analytics, which provides statistics on a website’s traffic and sources. Adometry will continue to offer its products and services to existing customers while also making its portfolio available to Google Analytics, officials said
