Fifteen companies with ties to Austin are among the best places to work, according to an annual survey by job-hunting site

The survey, which uses only employee feedback to factor its results, measures workers satisfaction with their company, and its compensation, benefits, leadership, and others

National Instruments Corp. (Nasdaq: NATI) was the highest ranked Austin-based company on Glassdoor’s large companies list. The chipmaker came in at No. 28 on the survey, noted as a “great place to start a career” with “lots of options and opportunity for growth,” according to one reviewer

Facebook Inc., Apple Inc., eBay Inc., Intel Corp., Rackspace Inc., and HEB Grocery Co. LP, all of which have significant operations in the Austin area, also earned spots on the survey’s rankings of large companies

Austin-based companies played a larger role on Glassdoor’s rankings of medium-sized companies. Online retail software company Volusion Inc. was named the 13th-best medium-sized company to work for, followed closely by digital coupon company RetailMeNot Inc., which ranked 14th

Austin-based Enterprise software maker Accruent Inc. was ranked No. 31 in the medium-sized company category

Lithium Technologies Inc. and Demand Media Inc., both of which have offices in Austin, also ranked on the medium-sized company survey
