Austin construction company hot on Houston; new office started

White Construction Co. — based in Austin and Ridgeland, Mississippi — hired Jim Snyder to oversee the firm's new Houston office

Snyder, who has a degree in construction science from Texas A&M University, will be a vice president with the company. He could not be reached for comment

Founded in 1971, White Construction has worked on building headquarters and campuses for major corporations such as Round Rock-based Dell Inc. and Austin-based Whole Foods Market Inc. It just finished a new Whole Foods grocery store on Post Oak Boulevard in Houston

White Construction also has deep experience with municipal buildings, correctional facilities, medical centers, luxury homes, residential towers, churches and retail shops
