Bury, an Austin-based engineering and consulting firm, is moving into a new market in the new year by opening an office in Phoenix

“The Phoenix market is attractive to us because of its similarities to the markets we call home,” said President and CEO Paul Bury. “We are drawn to that culture and look forward to contributing to Phoenix’s continued success.”

Part of the reason Bury decided to go after business in Phoenix is due to the fact that current clients have operations in the Arizona market

Senior Vice President Kelly Bell was promoted to principal and will head the Phoenix office, joined by Vice President Aaron Parenica. Bell had been based in the Austin office for more than 13 years. Parenica has been with Bury for about a decade, most recently as a senior project manager and associate in San Antonio

Bury said in December that it had acquired CHP and Associates Consulting Engineers Inc., which is based in Houston and has secondary offices near Orlando, Fla.

Bury’s busy 2013 culminated in a major rebranding initiative, which the Austin Business Journal covered in detail
