Austin lighting developer raises more equity

Lighting developer Illumitex Inc. reported raising $2 million of a planned $4.5 million equity financing

The Austin-based company collected the capital from six investors, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Illumitex, founded in 2005, develops light-emiting diode, or LED, technology. It employed 35 workers in 2012

The company has been regularly raising capital in recent years. In April 2013, Illumitex raised $3.8 million of a planned $8 million financing from four investors. In 2012, the company received $9.2 million of a planned $10 million financing from eight investors

Investors have included Houston-based DFJ Mercury Venture Partners, Colorado-based Aweida Venture Partners, California-based New Enterprise Associates, North Carolina-based Morgan Creek Capital Management LLC, New York-based Mousse Partners Ltd., Chicago-based Apex Venture Partners and Syngenta Ventures
