Zilks Foods LLC reported raising $200,000 of a planned $1 million financing

The Austin-based company collected the capital from a lone investor, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Zilks Foods, founded in 2010 and named after Austin's Zilker Park, produces natural food products such as hummas, tzatziki and salsa. It employed 22 workers in 2012

That year, the ABJ reported that local branding agency The Butler Bros. would represent Zilks Foods. At the time, Zilks Foods’ management team included President John Anderson, Managing General Partner Bill McMeans, owner Jeff Tusa and strategic adviser Clayton Christopher, who founded Sweet Leaf Tea and Deep Eddy Vodka

Anderson and Tusa bought Zilks Foods, formerly called Out to Lunch, from its founder in 2010. The duo left their jobs at investment firms in Dallas to move to Austin and run the packaged-food company

Zilks Foods — which can be found in 100 HEB Grocery Co. stores, 50 Whole Foods Market Inc. (Nasdaq: WFM) stores and various small grocers — was on track to grow 100 percent year-over-year

The company makes its all-natural products in a factory at Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road in South Austin
