A former Austin Technology Incubator director is launching his own startup after 18 months of development

Bart Bohn, previously co-founder of Ravel Inc., is bringing AuManil Inc. out of stealth mode with software designed to enable retailers to target their most active customers. The three-person company built the software for national retailers such as apparel and office suppliers that depend on repeat customers

Those types of businesses generate about 50 percent of their revenue from 10 percent of their customers

AuManil’s business model is based on focusing on those VIP customers to make sure they keep coming back. It tracks purchase histories, reviews, return rates and rates of purchases among other metrics that would indicate if a customer remains satisfied

Target customers are retailers posting $50 million to $500 million in annual revenue

AuManil has operated at the TechStars LLC incubator on a $250,000 seed funding, including $118,000 from TechStars and its sidecar fund. The company plans to unveil its business model at the incubator's demo day on Oct. 29, Bohn said
