Austin's RetailMeNot posts big quarterly, annual revenue gains

The mobile revolution helped RetailMeNot Inc. posted big quarterly and annual revenue gains, according to the company's  most recent financial statement released Thursday morning

The Austin-based digital coupon marketplace and app maker reported a 55 percent increase in net revenue for the fourth quarter of 2013, up from $50.8 million in revenue a year earlier

The company missed analyst earnings estimates of 29 cents per share, posting earnings of 26 cents for the quarter, compared to earnings of 31 cents for the fourth quarter of 2012

For the full year in 2013, the company posted a 45 percent increase in revenue, jumping to $209.8 million up from $144.7 million in 2012

It was a big year for mobile at RetailMeNot (Nasdaq: SALE). In the fourth quarter, the company's mobile revenue totaled $11.7 million, an increase of 179 percent compared to the $4.2 million in revenues reported in the fourth quarter of 2012. Annually, mobile revenue for the company shot up 213 percent to $26.6 million, compared to the $8.5 million in mobile revenue reported in 2012
