Austin software player gets $500K seed financing

Software maker Cinegif Inc. has received $500,000 in seed funding from Texas angel investor groups


The Austin-based company, which specializes in GIF (graphic interchange format) marketing solutions, collected the capital from investors that included the Baylor Angel Network, the Houston Angel Network and its related Halo Fund. The capital will be used for sales and marketing, officials said in a statement Thursday


Cinegif, founded in 2011, developed a GIF marketing platform designed to enable customers to integrate high-quality animated GIFs into digital strategy. The company employs four workers. The financing follows a $226,000 funding from friends and family, officials said


CEO Graham McFarland was previously founder and CEO of Austin software and Web services companies ExpressDigital and PhotoReflect
