Austin student housing startup raises seed money, works on business strategy

Jul 7, 2014

Comfy, an Austin-based tech startup that brings property managers to the students, has raised $600,000 in a seed funding round led by Dominion Ventures Inc. partner Mike Lee, reported

Other angel investors and Austin Ventures LP participated in the seed fund

Founded in 2013, Comfy helps college students at major universities in the country – with limited budgets – find affordable and conveniently-located housing

Students can create a profile, which lists exactly what they want based on certain criteria including price range, number of rooms and location. Apartment complex managers can access these profiles and begin contacting students, according to VentureBeat

For now, Comfy's service is free to both students and property managers. With the capital raised, Wright plans to focus on developing his startup's business strategy and technology
