Bazaarvoice Inc. plans to move its headquarters next year to a new four-story building in North Austin that could accommodate as many as 600 employees

The Austin-based company disclosed the planned relocation to Quarry Oaks, a new Class A building, at 10901 South Stonelake Boulevard i n a Friday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Bazaarvoice, which houses about 500 workers in its North Capital of Texas Highway headquarters, plans to move to the new location by December 2015. The company is making the move in anticipation of future growth, spokesman Matt Krebsbach told Austin Business Journal Friday afternoon

Bazaarvoice, founded in 2005, manages online product ratings and reviews for companies such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Best Buy Co. Inc. It employs almost 800 workers

The company will lease about 137,615 square feet of office space as the new building's only tenant. It would provide 20 percent more office space than the company's existing headquarters, Krebsbach said

The lease, which starts on Jan. 1, 2016, is for $27.25 per square foot, or $2.8 million for the first year, the SEC filing indicates. Should the landlord — Austin's RIverside Resources Property Management Ltd. — develop the site adjacent to facility into another Class A office building, Bazaarvoice would have the right of first refusal to lease the other building, the filing stated
