British-based Austin Fraser, an IT and engineering recruiting company, will open an Austin office in early 2015.
This is the second company from across the pond to have recently announced its investment in Austin. SafeGuard World International Inc. in the United Kingdom is relocating its headquarters to Austin, which the Austin Business Journal reported previously.
Austin Fraser is opening a satellite office here with about six employees to start.
“But like our Reading (England) and Munich office, this will grow pretty quickly,” said Peter Hart, director of Austin Fraser.
Hart said the company considered Orlando and Tampa, Florida; Boston, San Franciso, Washington, D.C.; and Atlanta.
“We were at the American Staffing Association conference in Orlando in 2013 and Austin kept coming up in the conversation,” Hart said. “It was on that basis we decided to take a look and we are glad we did. There are many attractive U.S. cities, but not so many have the buzz of Austin.”
Hart would not say where the company is looking for Austin office space, nor who the real estate brokers are.
The company was founded in 2007.
“There are further trips planned to Austin over the next quarter for existing staff and their families to get to grips with the city and to select accommodations and schools,” Hart said.
