California-based software maker Revionics is relocating its headquarters to Austin to tap into the area’s high-tech talent pool

Founded in Roseville in 2002, Revionics sells software that helps retailers optimize pricing

The company, which opened an office in Austin a year ago, said moving its headquarters here will allow it to accelerate hiring in marketing, sales, training and product development

“As we enter into our second decade of strong growth, relocating to Austin helps position us for more rapid expansion and offers our employees the benefits of a culturally rich city with a relatively low cost of living,” CEO Marc Hafner said in a statement

The company has 130 employees, including 35 in Austin. It will continue to maintain an office in Roseville as well as in Scottsdale, Ariz. and London

To accommodate its growth in Austin, the company is quadrupling its office space to 30,000 square feet. It plans to add more than 35 employees at its headquarters at 5000 Plaza on the Lake near the Pennybacker Bridge on Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway), bringing its local headcount to above 70

The company’s 70 customers include major chains such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Family Dollar and Safeway as well as regional retailers
