Dropbox Inc. plans to employ 200 workers in Austin by the end of 2015 as the California-based company uses Austin to grow its business in Latin America

Dropbox, which is opening its second office outside California on Congress Avenue between Fifth and Sixth streets, already employs 40 workers in Austin. But the local office is expected to grow quickly and play a crucial role in the company’s expansion plans, Vice President of Enterprise Strategy Ross Piper said

Dropbox, founded in 2007, provides remote data storage to both consumers and businesses. It now reports 275 million users and 4 million business customers. About 70 percent of the company’s users are outside the United States

In February, the city of Austin approved a 10-year incentive grant of $244,500 to Dropbox based on projected jobs created. Workers are temporarily in Congress Avenue offices next to the future permanent location
