E-commerce software maker completes financing, Brett Hurt among investors

Compare Metrics Inc. has completed a $3.8 million Series B round of financing


The Austin-based software firm collected the capital from a syndicate of investors that included Austin Ventures LP, according Wednesday news release


The funding increases to nearly $9 million the amount of investment capital Compare Metrics has received since launching in 2010. Investors in the Series B funding included the Capital Factory, venture capitalist Mike Maples Jr. and former Bazaarvoice Inc. CEO Brett Hurt, the release shows


Compare Metrics, founded in 2010 as Compare Networks LLC, develops search tools for e-commerce websites with a white-label product discovery platform. It employs 32 workers


In May 2013, Compare Metrics completed a $4.4 million Series A financing involving 12 investors, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Company executives disclosed that investors included Austin Ventures and several angel investors


In December 2012, the company received a $775,000 seed financing from nine investors including the California-based Floodgate Fund LP, New York-based Contour Venture Partners and California-based Allegro Venture Partners, according to the company
