In the city’s biggest office lease to date this year, Austin-based EZCorp Inc. will consolidate its six local offices into a new headquarters at the Rollingwood Center office project near downtown

The payday lending and pawnshop chain said it has signed a lease for about 140,000 square feet of space at Rollingwood Center, a project where two office buildings are under construction near MoPac Boulevard (Loop 1) and Bee Cave Road, and a third building is planned

EZCorp said it expects to relocate more than 300 people into Building 1 at Rolllingwood Center in the fourth quarter of 2015

“By consolidating our offices, we are increasing our efficiency and improving our ability to more effectively serve our customers and support our stores,” said Mark Kuchenrither, president and CEO of EZCorp. “We are also focused on building a high-performance culture and attracting the top talent in the region, and moving into a building of this quality in this great location should help us with that goal.”

While EZCorp has no immediate hiring plans, the new space will give the company room to grow in the future, Kuchenrither said. EZCorp did not disclose terms of the lease

EZCorp has 7,200 employees worldwide, with about 300 of those in Austin. In October, the company said it would cut 149 jobs, with the cost-cutting plan estimated to cost $4 million

Prior to that, the company had a shakeup to its management and board. Kuchenrither, who had been chief financial officer, became CEO, replacing Paul Rothamel

Spencer Hayes, co-founder and managing partner for Cushman & Wakefield | Oxford Commercial, who with Oxford’s Mark Greiner and Ryan Kasten, represented EZCorp in its search and lease

Hayes said the deal is the largest lease to date in 2014. The second is Bazaarvoice Inc.’s newly signed lease for 137,615 square feet, in a building to be constructed by Riverside Resources at the Quarry Oaks office and retail development in northwest Austin. More than 500 local Bazaarvoice employees will work in the new building, where the company will be the sole tenant when it moves in in December 2015

At Rollingwood Center, Austin-based Endeavor Real Estate Group is currently working on the first phase — two buildings totaling 215,000 square feet. Plans call for an additional office building. LatinWorks, an award-winning local advertising agency, has also signed a lease at Rollingwood Center, with plans to move in next year
