Enterprise Ireland opens shop in Austin

Enterprise Ireland, the Irish government agency sponsoring Irish businesses across the world, has officially opened a new office and begun operations in Austin, Texas


The office will focus on helping Irish business grow and access the Southern U.S. Enterprise Ireland Austin's office will be led by Austin-born Donovan Miller, who previously worked in technology and will be located at 7000 North MoPac, Suite 2099


The organization has other offices in cities around the world. When the company originally announced its intention to locate an office in Austin back in September, it also announced an office in Istanbul, Turkey


The Austin office has already begun working with its first company. DecaWave, a Dublin-based, fabless semiconductor company, launched its first chip last month and is expected to expand in Austin by early 2014. The company hired a local vice president of sales last week


"The presence of Enterprise Ireland in the Southern U.S. will impact Austin and Central Texas job growth as we focus on our mission, increase jobs and economic development by successfully bringing Irish technologies and products to the U.S. market," Miller said
