Favor expands service into Houston, boosts Dallas hours

Favor, the Austin-based startup app that's an Uber-style service for errands and deliveries, has expanded to Houston and has boosted its presence in Dallas, t he company said in an announcement


Developed by two former pizza delivery drivers, Zac Maurais and Ben Doherty, Favor employs hundreds of "runners" who perform errands for app users for a fee of $5 plus a percent of the value of the product being delivered and a tip


The app has been available in Austin since June 2013. In July, t he app expanded service to Boston


The latest move brings the company's trademark blue-bow-tie-adorned cars to Houston, and expands its operating hours in Dallas. In Dallas, Favor now takes orders from 9 a.m. and 12 a.m. every day, serving several major areas


In Houston, the app will make its services available between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. every day in the downtown, Rice Village, Galleria, Midtown and Medical Center areas
