Five Star ER has nearly completed construction of its first free-standing emergency medical department in Round Rock, the first of four Austin-area centers set to open in 2015

The 9,200-square-foot facility on Round Rock Avenue one mile west of Interstate 35 is owned by Emergency Service Partners, which is a physician-owned group that has provided care in Central Texas emergency rooms since 1988. It's expected to open on Jan. 15

The center will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and will have 11 emergency rooms including two trauma rooms, an on-site laboratory, pharmacy and imaging services. Its diagnostic services include CT scans, x-rays and ultrasounds

ESP is also the exclusive provider of emergency physician services to the Seton Healthcare Family

Austin-based Five Star ER has four centers slated to open next year, including South Austin, Dripping Springs and Pflugerville

"In an emergency situation, prospective patients and caregivers want to know they can trust the advice, treatment and care they receive, because their life or the life of their loved one may depend on it," Dr. Brian Aldred, Five Star ER's medical director, said in a statement

"From treating life-threatening conditions to minor emergencies, our board-certified physicians and experienced emergency room staff will operate as one unit — physicians, nurses and technicians — working with the patient. We believe our staff's ER experience, coupled with our personalized service approach, will set us apart and provide an unequaled patient experience."
