Inc. magazine announced yesterday that Square Root, an Austin-based enterprise SaaS company, ranked 144 among software companies, 32 in the Austin-metro, on the 33rd annual Inc. 500|5000 list of the fastest-growing, private companies in America. Austin has 87 businesses selected for the list this year, making it the fourth city for fastest-growing businesses

"Entrepreneurialism is alive and well here in Austin. The dynamic startup scene continues to fuel economic growth and attract more companies here every day. This growth has helped Square Root build a great team and be selected for this elite list for the second year in a row," said Chris Taylor, CEO of Square Root. "As the startup and technology scene continues to grow, so does the city. It's an exciting time for growth and a great time to be a part of these elite entrepreneurs who continue to innovate here in Austin."

Square Root is a profitable, bootstrapped tech startup founded by Taylor in 2006. The company is defining the operations performance management space with its flagship SaaS platform, CoEFFICIENT. The platform helps large companies improve operations at every level by delivering real time, actionable data insights to individual users. Using a suite of business applications, CoEFFICIENT helps companies understand what's driving organizational performance, optimize daily operations, and align people's work with company goals. Currently in the automotive space, Square Root plans to expand into other retail industries and more than triple in both headcount and customer volume

Every year the Inc. 5000 represents the most comprehensive look at the most important, and most evolving, segment of the economy—America's independent entrepreneurs. "What surprises me, even though I know it's coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved," said Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. "But what doesn't change is the fearsome creativity unleashed by American entrepreneurship."

In addition to ranking highly in software and the Austin-metro area, Square Root ranked 122 in Texas and 1585 overall
