Investors pour millions into Austin fracking co. Omni Water Solutions

Fracking technology developer Omni Water Solutions Inc. reported Wednesday raising $3.3 million of a planned $3.5 million financing


The Austin-based company collected the capital from 18 investors, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission


Omni Water, which was founded in 2010, develops water treatment technology for hydraulic fracturing operations. The company plans to market its product to enable oil companies to recycle water used in fracking


In April 2013, Omni Water reported receiving a $4 million financing from 16 investors. The funding came one year after it raised $7.9 million from 19 investors


Also last year, Omni Water named former Entorian Technologies Inc. (OTC: ENTN) executive Kirk Patterson as its chief financial officer. CEO Warren Sumner was previously chief operating officer of Austin-based Take Supply Chain and general manager of the enterprise products division, formerly ClearOrbit Inc., where he was vice president of marketing and vice president of professional services
