Drink Daily Greens LLC, a beverage maker, reported completing a $3 million financing

The Austin-based company collected the capital from a lone investor, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Drink Daily Greens, founded in 2012, produces a line of juice drinks from fruits and vegetables sourced from locally based farmers. It employed 20 workers in 2013. CEO Shauna Martin couldn't immediately be reached for comment

In September 2013, the Austin Business Journal reported that Martin launched the company based on a batch of green juice she began drinking every day since a breast cancer diagnosis in 2005

Drink Daily Greens, which started with backing from an undisclosed private investor, was distributing juice to 68 retail outlets, including Whole Foods Market, Central Market, Wheatsville Co-op, in.gredients, and Natural Grocers in 2013. The bulk of those outlets were in Texas, along with six Whole Foods locations in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana

Unlike some juice companies that kill off harmful bacteria by cooking their ingredients down to a puree and then adding water, Drink Daily Greens uses an alternate U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved process known as high-pressure processing, or HPP, that involves putting the juice into a hyperbaric food chamber

Martin said at the time that she expected to exceed $1 million in revenue during the company's first full year of operations
