Oracle Corp. has decided to expand its sales and marketing offices in Northwest Austin after being offered more than $1 million in state and local incentives

On Tuesday, the Williamson County Commissioners voted unanimously to offer Oracle a seven-year property tax abatement totaling more than $67,000 for the project, which was code-named “Project Wolf.”

Oracle has agreed to spend $5.4 million on office improvements and equipment at 7700 W. Parmer Lane and add 200 sales and marketing jobs there by 2017

The local incentive pairs with the Texas Enterprise Fund offer of $1 million, which was announced by the governor’s office on Friday

Oracle, the world’s second-largest software company, already has substantial operations in Austin in sales, marketing and in semiconductor design. The average annual wage for those new Oracle jobs is expected to be more than $66,000, said Williamson County Commissioner Lisa Birkman

Oracle noted that it had first expanded to Austin more than a decade ago

“We sought a central, vibrant community that offered access to a strong talent pipeline and a supportive business community and the region has certainly delivered,” said Randy Smith, the company’s vice president of global real estate and facilities
