Macheen acquired by California mobile app developer

Macheen Inc., an Austin-based mobile cloud application service provider, has been acquired for $8.3 million by Good Technology Corp., a Sunnyvale, California-based enterprise mobile platform developer, the companies said Tuesday


The acquisition was touted by Good Technology officials as a way to enhance its ability to provide corporate data plans and expand the company's data network carrier relationships. Good Technology was founded in 1996 and is backed by several investors, including Blueprint Ventures, Oak Investment Partners and Meritech Investment Partners, according to its website


In January, Macheen Inc. laid off an undisclosed number of workers and swapped its then-CEO, Greg Stock, for its founding CEO, Richard Schwartz. That swap came only months after the Schwartz had switched jobs with Stock
