Months after a $14 million financing, social media specialist Main Street Hub Inc. plans to use the capital to fund a major hiring spree

The Austin-based social media specialist plans to hire 300 more workers across all departments this year and assign about 190 of them locally, Co-CEO Matt Stuart said Thursday

Main Street Hub, which launched in San Francisco in 2009 and relocated to Austin in 2011, provides a service designed to enable small and midsize businesses to manage their online presence and reputations. The company, which does not disclose its annual revenue, now employs 175 workers and operates offices in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles

In late January, Main Street Hub completed a $14 million Series B round of funding from 14 investors that included California-based Bessemer Venture Partners and California-based Harrison Metal Capital. The financing increased to more than $20 million the amount of investment capital Main Street Hub has collected since launching

In October 2011, the company reported completing a $2.5 million seed funding from a syndicate of 24 angel investors, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Co-CEO Andrew Allison has said Main Street Hub monitors and manages online reputations for $200 to $300 per month. It targets small and medium-sized business owners who don’t have time to manage information posted on the Internet related to their businesses
