Williamson County residents are being asked to give the green light to some 60 proposed projects on the November ballot, including major roadway expansions to allow for highway bypasses and the renovation of the Taylor rodeo arena

The Austin American-Statesman reports that the $315 million bond issue would also allow for the build-out of more hiking trails

A county official told the Statesman that the county could repay the funds without raising the existing tax rate of 17 cents per $100 in assessed property rate, and that the bond debt would be repaid by 2042. The vote is set for Nov. 5

Among the roadway projects is the proposed extension of North Mays Street to University Boulevard, giving access to Southwestern University and Austin Community College’s Round Rock campus, rather than use I-35
