Mozido acquires New York company

Mobile payments specialist Mozido Inc. has acquired a New York company that develops customer loyalty software

Austin-based Mozido bought StickyStreet Inc., which has customers such as Toys-R-Us Inc., Harley-Davidson Inc. (NYSE: HOG) and Best Western International Inc., according to a news release issued Tuesday by Mozido

StickyStreet, founded in 2005, operates offices in New York and Washington, D.C.

Mozido, which was founded in 2008, develops cloud-based mobile payment systems and marketing software. Last year, the company relocated to Austin from Dallas after it acquired Cedar Park-based PagoVision Inc. Mozido employs 100 workers with 70 of them based in Central Texas

In late 2013, Mozido raised $30 million of a planned $70 million financing to fund its expansion. In November, it received an undisclosed amount of capital to implement a mobile payment system in El Salvador

Last week, Mozido named former Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) executive Scott Sandlin as president
