A New York-based software company is planning a major expansion in Austin after recently completing a $10.5 million financing

Signpost Inc., the developer of online marketing software, already operates an Austin office with 30 workers. But CEO Stuart Wall plans to increase the number to up to 100 by the end of the year and relocate closer to downtown, a popular spot for technology companies seeking to recruit young workers. He plans to select the new office location by August

The expansion would put Signpost in position to operate with more than 50 percent of its workforce in Austin. Its New York headquarters would include just 60 workers, Wall said

Signpost was founded in 2009 as Postabon Inc. Its digital marketing automation software is designed to enable small businesses gain a competitive edge in a marketplace

In November 2013, Signpost completed a $10.5 million Series B round of funding involving six investors, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The financing increased to $15 million the total Signpost has received since launching. Investors include Google Ventures and two Boston-based firms, Spark Capital and Openview Venture Partners
