OutboundEngine in Austin raises $11M to expand staff, refine its software

OutboundEngine Inc., a marketing software maker, has completed an $11 million Series B round of funding


The capital will be used to accelerate OutboundEngine's growth, expand its office and fund product development, according to a Thursday news release


The Austin-based company disclosed Thursday that it collected the capital from investors that included Austin-based Silverton Partners, California- and New York-based Harmony Partners and California-based Altos Ventures. The funding increases to $17.5 million the total amount of investment capital OutboundEngine has raised since launching, a company spokesman said


OutboundEngine, which was founded in 2010 as Promo Labs LLC, developed a platform designed to enable small- and mid-sized businesses to manage customer relationships through email and social media. It employs 100 workers


In November 2012, OutboundEngine completed a $1.6 million Series A round of financing. Investors included the California-based Floodgate Fund LP, Austin Ventures LP, Silverton Partners and the Capital Factory. The cloud-based platform automates the delivery of timely, tailored e-mail, social and content marketing
