Periscope Holdings buys Utah-based software maker

Software maker Periscope Holdings Inc. has acquired a Utah company specializing in public contract procurement

Austin-based Periscope completed the deal with BidSync Inc. on Monday. Financial terms of the transaction are undisclosed

Periscope Holdings, which was founded in 2001, develops public procurement software. It employs 56 workers, a company spokeswoman said

BidSync, which was founded in 1999, is best known for its eSourcing software and the largest government bid notification system in North America. It employs 63 workers

BidSync employees will join Periscope Holdings and BidSync will continue to operate its office in American Fork, Utah, the release indicates

The acquisition was backed by Parthenon Capital Partners, a private equity firm that operates offices in Boston and San Francisco
