The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority will officially unveil the four competing visions for Plaza Saltillo to the public at a May 13 open house

We published part of the developers' visions in this slideshow   (http://www.bizjournals.com/austin/print-edition/2014/04/25/downtown-options-emerge-for-11-acres-at-plaza.html)

Plaza Saltillo, an 11-acre site owned by the public transit agency since 1995, sits in the shadow of downtown just east of I-35. Capital Metro wants to redevelop the area and has solicited plans for the mixed-use development that could bring as many as 800 residences, plus office space and a grocery store to the area

A number of local development heavyweights have lined up to bid on the project; teams are led by Argyle Residential/Cypress Real Estate, Saltillo Collaborative, Riverside Resources and Endeavor Real Estate Group

The May 13 open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Terrazas Branch Library, 1105 E. Cesar Chavez St., will be the first Capital Metro event intended to present the developers' proposals to the public. Previously, developers had presented to the East Cesar Chavez Neighborhood Planning Team and the Capital Metro board

The four finalists for the contract will be present at the open house and be available to speak with attendees. The public will also be invited to provide written comments that will be shared with the Capital Metro board before it makes a final selection later in May, according to a Capital Metro release
