Austin-based transportation application maker RideScout LLC has expanded to San Francisco

RideScout, which employs 11 workers, including six in Austin, developed a mobile application designed to provide users with information about various transportation options and related information from a specific location

The company was founded in 2011 at the Austin Technology Incubator as GoingMyWay and changed its name in 2012

It launched its first full-scale operation in Washington, D.C. in November 2013

In February, RideScout reported raising $1.5 million of a planned $2.7 million financing from 70 investors, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing was an update to a 2012 filing in which RideScout reported receiving nearly $343,000 from 21 investors

CEO Joseph Kopser said the investment capital would be used to launch RideScout in additional cities such as Houston, San Francisco, New York City and Boston
