SXSW Interactive plans community meet-up in Austin, other Texas cities

The South By Southwest Interactive festival has scheduled an informational event in Austin later this month


The March festival has scheduled a two-hour "community meet-up" at the Capital Factory downtown to brief participants on the festival programming and expected changes this year. Organizers are expected to review how the new JW Marriott hotel will change the logistics of the festival. The meet-up is also expected to enable attendees to network with the SXSW Interactive staff and other technologists, according to a statement from SXSW


The Austin meet-up is part of a four-city tour by SXSW staff that includes Houston, Dallas and San Antonio during January. The Capital Factory event is scheduled for Jan. 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The combination incubator and co-working space is at 701 Brazos St


SXSW Interactive is the technology and innovation part of the overall SXSW festival that operates each March in Austin. Nearly 32,800 people attended the Interactive portion of SXSW last year, organizers have said
