Scott Felder Homes acquired by new Dallas-area homebuilder

Scott Felder Homes, a prominent Central Texas volume homebuilding company, has been acquired by BR Homebuilding Group LP of Plano, Texas, just north of Dallas


Scott Felder Homes was ranked No. 10 in Austin Business Journal’s 2014 Book of Lists with $54.8 million in home sales in 2012


The company has been a frequent winner of industry awards, including this year’s Home Builder of the Year award given by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin


Specific terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but partial financing is being provided by Maryland-based United Development Funding IV, a real estate investment trust


BR Homebuilding Group is a new company founded by this year by Bobby Ray, a veteran homebuilding executive who previously served as the Texas and Florida division president of K. Hovnanian Homes


Scott Felder and Steve Krassoff, co-founders of Scott Felder Homes, will be involved moving forward: Felder as a consultant and Krassoff as president in charge of all homebuilding operations for Scott Felder Homes, which will retain its identity


According to an announcement about the acquisition, Scott Felder Homes will have revenue of $130 million by the end of the year on an estimated 265 closings. The company also owns or controls 1,000 finished lots
