Self-storage company Great Value from Austin plans buying spree

Austin claims one of the fastest-growing self-storage companies in the U.S., according to a new report from Austin-based self-storage website SpareFoot.com


The report highlights eight independent self-storage companies with big growth expectations in 2015. Among the list is Austin-based Great Value Storage, which reportedly has plans to acquire between 50 and 70 new facilities this year in addition to between 10 and 15 new locations under development


"We are targeting infill opportunities in major markets such as Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Memphis, Kansas City, Las Vegas and Indianapolis," Robert Cerrone, divisional vice president at Great Value Storage, told SpareFoot's Storage Beat blog. "We are looking to expand the branded storage business into the I-95 corridor from Boston to Miami. By year's end, the brand will also be firmly established along the I-5 corridor from San Diego to San Francisco."

Santa Monica, California-based StorQuest

Winter Garden, Florida-based iStorage

Cleveland, Ohio-based Compass Self Storage

Roseville, California-based LifeStorage

Boulder, Colorado-based Red Dot Storage

Orange, California-based Store Here Self Storage

Northbrook, Illinois-based Banner Storage Group
