Software maker Revionics collects investment from Motorola

The investment arm of Motorola Solutions Inc. has invested $5 million in software maker Revionics Inc.
Motorola Solutions Venture Capital invested in the Austin-based company that plans to use the capital to speed up its growth into new markets and an expansion of its research and development work
Revionics, founded in 2002, develops business intelligence software for retailers. The product is designed to enable retailers to set prices and track inventory using equipment most of them already have, such as cash registers and payment systems. The company employs 120 workers
In October, Revionics moved its headquarters from California to Austin, where it now employs 30 workers. It continues to operate offices in Roseville, Calif., Arizona and London
In September 2013, Revionics raised $11.2 million in equity financing. It previously raised capital in 2007 when it collected $7 million from California-based Sierra Ventures. The company also received a $3.2 million round of venture capital in 2006
