Software maker Together Mobile Inc. has raised $5.4 million of a planned $8.8 million financing

The Austin-based company collected the capital from 64 investors, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing is an amendment to a July posting in which the company reported raising $3.3 million from 40 investors

Together Mobile, which was launched in February by boyhood buddies Mike Svatek and Benjamin Lail, develops software designed to enable businesses to create mobile marketing campaigns by inserting code into existing applications. The company employed 11 workers in July

CEO Svatek has said Together Mobile received its capital from a syndicate of investors through National Securities Corp., a New York-based private equity firm

Svatek is a former Bazaarvoice Inc. (Nasdaq: BV) executive, and Lail is a former consultant for the Texas Department of Information Resources
