SolarWinds buys software maker for $103M

A division of SolarWinds Inc. has bought a Colorado software company for $103 million

SolarWinds Worldwide LLC on Monday acquired Boulder, Colo.-based Confio Corp., a database performance management software maker, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

SolarWinds (NYSE: SWI), founded in 1998, develops information technology management software. The company employs more than 900 workers — about 350 locally — with offices in Singapore, Australia, Ireland and the Czech Republic

In September, just one month after Chief Financial Officer Michael Berry said he would step down amid a months-long stock price slump, the company’s stock price hit a 52-week low

In July, it posted a second-quarter income of $22.7 million on revenue of $77.5 million compared with an income of $19.4 million on revenue of $64 million during the same period last year
