Together Mobile gathers more capital

Software maker Together Mobile Inc. reporting raising $8 million of a planned $8.8 million financing

The Austin-based company collected the capital from 116 investors, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing is an amendment to a September posting in which the company reported raising $5.4 million from 64 investors

Together Mobile, which was launched in February by boyhood buddies Mike Svatek and Benjamin Lail, develops software designed to enable businesses to create mobile marketing campaigns by inserting code into existing applications. The company employed 11 workers in July, when the Austin Business Journal reported on the launching of the local startup

CEO Svatek has said Together Mobile received its capital from a syndicate of investors through National Securities Corp., a New York-based private equity firm

Svatek is a former Bazaarvoice Inc. (Nasdaq: BV) executive, and Lail is a former consultant for the Texas Department of Information Resources
