WayBlazer, an Austin startup that seeks to improve the way travelers get information about their destinations, has hired longtime travel and hospitality executive Felix Laboy as its CEO

The company utilizes the computing power of IBM's Watson technology to let travelers use natural language while looking for information about a new destination. Laboy will be responsible for leading operations, product development and the go-to-market strategy for WayBlazer's newly created comprehensive travel and hospitality solution offerings

Laboy was previously president of Sabre Hospitality Solutions, which provided marketing, distribution and operations tools for the hospitality industry worldwide, according to the WayBlazer announcement. He also co-founded E-site Marketing, which Sabre Holdings acquired in 2007, and has served as an executive with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Westin Hotels and Resorts and the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

"WayBlazer's products are the next steps in technology for travel and I look forward to scaling our services and changing how consumers access travel content," Laboy said in a statement
