Web video growth fuels Austin company's expansion into Dallas area

Yearly revenue growth of more than 50 percent and surging demand for high-quality video content for ecommerce companies has led Austin-based Invodo to scale up its operations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A newly opened 30,000-square-foot video production facility in Plano, north of Dallas, will allow the company to increase the volume of video content it produces for clients such as Verizon, AT&T, Sports Authority and Macy’s

With advanced lighting, cameras and sound stages, CEO Craig Wax said the facility is designed as a one-stop shop. Wax said Invodo’s creative team helps clients conceive and plan their videos, which are shot at the Plano facility or the company’s 18,000-square feet of space in Austin, and then distributed digitally on its proprietary platform.

Launched in 2007, Wax said the company moved to the ecommerce video space in 2010 when he and others at Invodo saw the Web becoming dominated by visuals instead of text. It is currently bringing in nearly $20 million per year in revenue with more than 50 percent annual growth and plans to add about 50 new employees to its staff of 80 in Austin and Dallas
