Whole Foods Market Inc. representatives confirmed they will open a new store in the New Orleans area, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune

Replacing a closing Albertsons grocery store, the 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods store will open in early 2016 in a shopping center in Mandeville, Louisiana. It will be the fourth Whole Foods in the New Orleans area

"Since I've been with the company for more than 12 years, I've always heard requests for a north shore store," Whole Foods spokesman Kristina Bradford told the newspaper. "We are delighted to come to Mandeville and be a part of the community."

Whole Foods is on an expansion path in New Orleans. In addition to the Mandeville location, a third store is set to open in Shreveport in 2015
