XOR Data Exchange completes $1.8M financing

XOR Data Exchange Inc. has completed a $1.8 million round of financing


The Austin-based big data company collected the capital from investors that included Chicago Ventures and California-based KGC Capital. As part of the deal, XOR appointed to its board of 


directors Norm Willox, the founder and CEO of Maryland-based Bluewater International, according to a Tuesday announcement


XOR Data Exchange, which was founded in 2014, develops software designed to enable data sharing through permission-based controls and audits. The company employs 10 workers


By sharing such data, businesses are expected to reduce credit and fraud losses, attract new customers, meet regulatory requirements and monetize their data assets, according to the XOR

CEO Mike Cook was previously the co-founder and chief operating officer of ID Analytics Inc., a California company acquired in 2012 by Arizona-based identity theft protection company 


LifeLock Inc., according to his online profile


ID Analytics, founded in 2002, initially developed software to spot identity fraud. It eventually expanded with enterprise-level software and analytics related to consumer behavior
