The new creative office project, East 6, located at 2010 East 6th Street and developed by Aquila Commercial, reached a major construction milestone. This week, integrated architecture and construction firm The Beck Group held a ceremony to celebrate the construction team placing the last structural beam, known as a “topping out.”
The building is fully leased by GoDaddy and will be home to the company’s Austin operations. AQUILA Commercial is leading the development of the project.
“The design-build delivery of 2010 East 6th Street has been truly a collaborative team effort and the positive results are evident not only in the quality of the design and construction, but also from an overall budget and schedule standpoint as well,” says Todd Tebbe, Principal with AQUILA Commercial. “We are looking forward to GoDaddy commencing and beginning interior build-out this spring.”
East 6 will be the latest office addition to Austin’s continuously expanding east side, and will include 115,000 square feet of office space across three floors, as well as four floors of parking garage. Designed and built by The Beck Group, its spacious, open lobby will feature a coffee bar for tenants, and of course includes the east side’s walkability factor to multiple dining, retail and entertainment amenities.
“The East 6 project has been a fun opportunity for us, as it’s a creative office that is tailored to this vibrant area of Austin. We’ve integrated several unique elements, such as indoor bike storage adjacent to the lobby and locker rooms, and an open air ‘conference room’ on the ground level, shaded by landscape screens and the building’s cantilevered facade,” says Brian Miller, Architecture Principal at The Beck Group.
